The Cranston Fire Department recently received an Air Supply/ Rehab vehicle. Until now, the department was not capable of filling bottles on the scene of an emergency. This rig provides capability of filling approximately 120 cylinders from a cascade system of 6 tanks. It also provides an area for approximately 10 firefighters to rest and rehydrate, out of the elements, in either a heated or air condition crew cab. The horizontal compartment on the officers side provides an area to warm turnout gear during winter operations. Members of the Cranston Fire Department Local 1363 worked with Hackney in developing this apparatus. To our knowledge, this is the only apparatus of its kind that combines the air supply and rehab area in one vehicle.
