While on a day trip with family and friends, we were walking from Fanueil Hall to Mike's Pastry in the North End. As we turned on hanover Street, I saw Engine 8 and Ladder 1 in front of a restaurant. It looked like Ladder 1's jacks were starting to extend and then I noticed the members of Engine 8 running out to the rig to get a line. Not having a radio with me or expecting to go to any fires, I didn't have my camera with me, it was in the car. Thankfully our friends had a camera with them that I quickly borrowed and took off. I could smell smoke but never saw any. They had at least two lines stretched and three aerials to the roof. It was funny to see that some people just went about their business, walking down the sidewalk as the firefighters are trying to stretch lines into the building. The restaurant that the fire was in was evacuated but the surrounding ones weren't affected and people just kept eating. Thanks to the Marcellos' for the use of their camera.
